Spent some time with Raina Telegemeier’s & Matthew Holm’s artwork at Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD!
So happy to have had time with Raina in SF before she darted off for NYCC. Writing and illustrating graphic novels is an arduous process, working in memoir can be excruciatingly difficult. It’s important to have friends who can relate and celebrate.
Raina & I first met via MySpace in 2003. In 2008, we sat next to each other at a table all day at the Mass Library Association conference hoping people would stop to talk to us about our comics. To all the ComicCons and late-night deadline chatter, so grateful for our friendship.
Also, had every intention on bringing her a finished copy of Hey, Kiddo, but I totally spaced as I packed. We lamented not having our books for this photo. We joked that we could just poorly photoshop them in later... so here you go.
