Eyewitness Reports Art Auction

My old pal, Dan Santat, has created an art auction called Eyewitness Reports to benefit 826LA, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Dan's latest book, Oh No! written by Mac Barnett, is about a girl whose science project, a giant robot, goes out of control and destroys the city. Dan's idea behind Eyewitness Reports is that this one event would have lots of witnesses and what would their perspectives on the disaster be? He gathered 30 fantastic illustrators to contribute.

The art will be on display at the NUCLEUS GALLERY in LA from AUG 14 – 17.

And there will be two eBay auctions. AUG 23 – 27 and AUG 30 – SEPT 3. I'll be sure to post when my work goes up for sale.

I was happy to help because A) 826LA is a fantastic organization, B) Dan is a good friend of mine and C) I was excited to paint a giant robot destroying a city.

Here is my contribution, which will be up for auction at the end of the month.

Check out this cool video Dan made for the event:
