Wow, someone (looks like someone in England) went through a lot of trouble to recreate "The Simpsons" intro with real people.

Max for President - in paperback
Not too long ago, my editor called to let me know that Random House would be publishing a paperback edition of Max for President to coincide with the next presidential election. But when I received the Fall 2007 catalog, it was nowhere to be found! Huh.
And then it hit me - the presidential election isn't until fall 2008... I guess all of this campaigning has already taken it's toll on me!
7 Imp Blog - just bookmark it!
If you haven't bookmarked the 7 Impossible Things Before Breakfast Blog yet, do it! Because otherwise I'll have to continually link to great interviews with great authors (and sometimes also illustrators) like the one with my old pal Anna Alter and the one with new pal John Green.

Donkey Kong in Post-It Notes
This is unreal - made with about 6,400 Post-It notes, this homage to Donkey Kong (and Mario) was created at the UC Santa Cruz Engineering Building.

Q=(Bert
I think I missed the deadline to submit to the new I Am 8-Bit Show, but since I already painted a picture for it, I figured I would share it here just the same. Q-Bert was one of my favorite arcade games as a kid. I would head to the arcades with a pocketful of quarters and play this game endlessly. I even had a Q-Bert rain jacket. In fact that same arcade still exists, as does the same machine I played on as a kid, and I make it a point to get there to play every summer. Unfortunately, I can't find my Q-Bert rain jacket anywhere...

Just One More Book
I just discovered this cool new blog/podcast called "Just One More Book". My pal Alvina, who is an editor at Little Brown, was interviewed. If you ever wondered how much work goes into being an editor for children's books, then you should definitely give it a listen! Check it out here. And while you're there, peruse around and check out all of their great interviews!
